Tele-practice school jobs; would you qualify?
School districts, virtual schools, home schoolers, and home-bound student families across the country are re-evaluating how services are delivered to their children. One of the trends is by tele-practice, also called tele-health, for Speech and Occupational Therapy, Sign Language, Psychology, Teachers of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing and Teachers of the Visually Impaired. Some of these disciplines have been using this method of delivery for quite some time; others are new to this creative way of getting services to their special needs students.
We here at Soliant have a dedicated staff in our tele-health department, VocoVision. If you meet the qualifications, they will walk you through the steps it will take for you to be set up to work from your home computer. Some of the qualifications necessary are:
* A home computer that is no older than 5 years with hi-speed internet connection
* Experience working in a school environment
* A license to practice both in the state where you are based and in the state of the school/client requesting services
* The ability to work independently
* A dedicated space where you can converse with no distractions or interuptions
* Ability to communicate via FaceTime, Skype, etc.
* A comfort level with solving technical issues that may occur
Once your recruiter has determined that you have all of the above qualifications, they will send you to the VocoVision team for further screening both with our placement associates and our technical crew who will walk you through the steps and finalize your placement.
If you have any interest in exploring this "wave of the future", please give me a call, and I'll help you to determine your eligibility to become a part of this exciting new trend! You can call me at 770-325-0234 or drop me a note at millie.simpson@soliant.com

Sick day blog post...ugh...
Well, I've been trying to make it through the week with a nasty something-or-other that has elements of the flu (body aches, chills, bad cough), but don't think it was the flu. I am still sporting a nasty cough that hijacks too many conversations for me to try to do my usual phone calls. So, I'm home and thought I'd communicate a bit via my blog. If you think one of these might be of interest, you can call me 770-325-0234 or, better for today, email me at milllie.simpson@soliant.com.

Expanding our roster of educator jobs for travel contractors
This week brought in our first "Teacher" position! We will be expanding this segment of our recruiting as we finish out the 2014-2015 and approach the upcoming school year.
Our first opening came in the form of a Teacher of Gifted Education. This needs to be someone who holds or is eligible to obtain a New Mexico Gifted Education certification. A teacher from any state with that same certification would be eligible OR a teacher with a teaching license who has a minimum 12 hours of gifted education courses from an accredited university. For information on how to obtain this, please give me a call or drop me a note. My desk number is 770-325-0234 and my email is millie.simpson@soliant.com.
Other qualities for the perfect applicant would be:
critical thinker and is creative in the classroom
familiar with the use of iPads and chromebooks
familiar with the use of Destination Imagination materials/books
There are 32 students in grades 4-6 who will be pulled out of class to attend the various classes. Teacher will be situated at one campus. This district is located in the beautiful Four Corners area of New Mexico and the position is open immediately for a contractor to finish out this school year, with the possibility of re-signing for the full 2015-2016 school year.
We are excited to bring teachers into the world of traveling. If you have a nomadic leaning and would like to travel to new destinations, we would love to work with you!

I have had to put my planner for the rest of the week on hold to try to help a school district in New Mexico find Special Education Teachers. They have several openings and want to see resumes ASAP to start making offers this week!
