My mom gave me a box of things she had saved throughout the years from my childhood. There were report cards from the time I was in kindergarten through high school (Lord knows I'd never want MY children to see those!) There was also a report from my Speech Therapist about my progress. Ahhh, for the simplicity of the 60's, eh, folks??? I know it may be a bit hard to read, but it basically tells how many sessions I had & my mom had to sign it...that's it!!!

Spotlight on Special Eduation Teachers

Schools around the country have begun to realize that contract services can help them fill their open positions for Special Education Teachers. They have given us several open positions that will begin after the holiday break, but would like to begin the interview process and have contracts signed and in place before the end of this week! NOW they tell us!!!

End of year shifts

If anyone is looking to make a change in employment at the end of the year, now is the time to contact your/a recruiter (or just me..;-}...). So many shifts happen in school systems this time of year-those expecting a child don't return for the second semester, a spouse may be accepting a transfer to a different location, caseloads increase as children enroll for the second semester, and sometimes folks are just ready for a change. "T" is for Texas, Therapists, Terrific Special Ed Professionals, Too few of you!!!!

It seems that Texas is sorely lacking (although there are numerous universities and colleges in the state with SLP and OT programs) in therapists to handle the ever-increasing caseloads in their schools and medical facilities. We spend our weeks making hundreds of phone calls trying to uncover just ONE Special Ed professional, SLP or OT who might be available to give some of their time (though most of you are working multiple jobs)! The majority of positions that come across my desk are school districts, but we also have pediatric clinics and sometimes hospitals seeking help in their recruiting efforts. Below is a list of jobs in Texas that we have available this week:
